Sewage Smell/septic System/gurgle Noise - Plumbing - DIY Home ...

I just bought a house last week and was search for help with some plumbing issues and found this forum. Its just what I was looking for .

I closed on the house on Monday and a couple days later I noticed that when I flush the toilet I get a gurgling noise coming from the bath tub drain.

I looked on the roof and noticed there is only 1 vent pipe. I had family tell me to get the septic pumped out just to be safe. I can't locate the clean out and have the old owner coming by to show me where it is. I also noticed that the septic system does not have a vent pipe.

It's vented it uses the same pipe coming out the roof of the house.

A day after that I noticed that I was getting a bad sewage smell from the tub drain.

Would getting the septic pumped out fix both of these issues?

If you didn't get a septic inspection before you bought this house nows the time to have it inspected. Sounds like you could have a partial clog in the sewer drain or a restricted vent or bot. Need to find someone who knows septic systems to take a look at yours.
