How To Spend Your Cape Town Vacation | cfhnb.org

Our modern generation is living in a very stressful environment that is why medical experts claim that vacation trips are not just for leisure but for the body?s general well-being as well.

And what better way to spend your vacation than to go out of the country and into one of the oldest cities in Africa. The African weather, inspiring sceneries and rich culture makes it the place to be on a 5 day vacation.

One thing to expect is an array of museums, which houses exhibits on the history, geography and culture of Cape Town. The most popular among these are museums of natural history and museums on the local culture. Cultural tours are also popular which are educational tours about the people, how they live, and what their livelihoods are. There are tours on some small towns like Niangua, Langa, and Khayelitsha that showcase how the people live, and educate tourists about their struggles especially during the apartheid.

Perhaps the most interesting town of all is the Bo Kaap which is the oldest existing community in Cape Town and perhaps Africa itself. Its culture has been preserved because the people have never been subjected to forced removals. This place served as the area where slaves were housed back in the 17th and 18th centuries.

The architecture is interesting with flat roofed houses, churches adorned with gables, and decorative mosques remain undisturbed. To experience much of Cape Town, you can plan a 5 day tour of the place starting off with a short orientation of the place. The first day is best spent on Boulder Beach and dropping a visit on the penguin colony. The rest of the day can be spent at Cape Peninsula National Park and Cape Point. This national park is home to some wild baboons and indigenous Fybnos.

Your day 2 can be spent at Table Mountain and you can get there via cable car. While on Table Mountain, you may marvel at the city harbor and Atlantic Seaboard. Later in the day, visit the Green Market Square for some shopping. Spend Day 3 like wine connoisseurs on two of the oldest plantations at Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Enjoy some nightlife at the cafes and bistros later. Day 4 can be spent by sweating out and strolling and hiking over at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. Be amazed by Flora that can only be found in Africa.

Finally in your fifth day you can visit the popular Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. If you have decided on going to Cape Town, take a look at some travel sites and book some Cape Town accommodation or bed & breakfast in Cape Town online. The best deals are inclusive of bed and breakfast in Cape Town holiday inns.
